The NBA History: 'The 1971-1972 Los Angeles Lakers'

Source:The NBA History- Los Angeles Lakers captain and leader Wilt Chamberlain: the greatest NBA player and center ever, at least at this point.

"The Lakers won 69 games, including a league-record 33-game winning streak, on their way to the NBA title."

From The NBA History

Sometimes before you can beat the man, you have to lose to the man a lot. In the 1960s when the Los Angeles Lakers were winning Western Conference Championship after Western Conference Championship, the Boston Celtics were the men of the NBA. They simply had the best teams and played the best as a team. No other way to describe how an NBA franchise wins 9 straight NBA Finals from the late 50s, well into the 1960s, with all the very good teams that they beat. But in 1972, The Lakers finally became the men and beat the New York Knicks and finally won their NBA Championship.

NFL Films: Jack Lambert

Source:NFL Films- with a piece in 2010 about Pittsburgh Steelers LB Jack Lambert.

"Pro Football Hall of Fame wide linebacker Jack Lambert comes in at number 29 on NFL Films' "The Top 100: NFL's Greatest Players" list produced in 2010."

From NFL Films

I don't want to put Jack Lambert in the same conversation as Dick Butkus other than to say after Butkus, I think Jack Lambert is great MLB in the NFL, at least up until Ray Lewis came up with the Baltimore Ravens in the mid 1990s. I think Dick Butkus is the greatest not just middle/inside LB ever, but I have Butkus down as the great LB ever, if not defender ever in the history of American football. But Jack Lambert would be like the next guy after Butkus, at least when it comes to middle/inside LB's.

At Jack Lambert's biggest, you are talking about a guy who even though he was 6'5, never weighed more than 220 pounds. And 220 pounds was small NFL LB, perhaps especially inside LB even in the 1970s. And then Lambert was 6'5 and taller then most NFL defensive lineman back then, so he seemed even smaller and skinner because he was so tall and playing middle linebacker in the NFL.

Despite Jack Lambert's lack of weight, no one seemed to be able to block him. And people could say that's because of the great defensive lineman in front of him, but NFL lineman couldn't block him either, fullbacks couldn't block him, tailbacks and fullbacks couldn't break his tacklers. So Lambert was obviously a lot stronger than he appeared.

Jack Lambert was also so quick, I mean we're not talking about a blitzing LB who blitzed most of the time he was in there like a rush end whose a hybrid DE/OLB, whose in there mostly to pressure the QB. We're talking about a MLB who because of the Steelers great defensive line and pass rush, didn't blitz much, at least in the mid 1970s before the offensive rule changes, which meant their linebackers had to play pass defense and either drop back in zones, or pick up a running back or tight end coming out for a pass. And similar to Dick Butkus, Jack Lambert was great as both as run defender or pass defender.

Putting any NFL defender, perhaps especially linebackers in the same conversation as the Monster of the Midway Dick Butkus, is saying a helluva lot. But Jack Lambert was really that good. And if you are doing a debate or conversation about the best NFL defenders ever, not just linebackers and Jack Lambert is not in that conversation, you need to do a lot more homework and get a lot more education about the history of the NFL. And not just rely on things that you see on ESPN other sports websites, because they're mostly interested who are the best players today and don't take NFL history very seriously, if at all.

NFL Films: The Los Angeles Raiders

Source:NFL Films- Los Angeles Raiders founder Al Davis.

"Raider History: AL Davis Talks Winning & Move To LA 1981"

From The Raiders Film Vault

The 1990s was for the Los Angeles Raiders, what the 1990s was for the Japanese economy: a lost decade. There was really only one year that the Raiders were any type of Super Bowl contender, which was 1990. And had RB Bo Jackson not of gotten hurt in the AFC Divisional Playoff against the Cincinnati Bengals, the AFC Final against the Buffalo Bills would've been a lot different.

For most of. The rest of the 1990s, the Raiders either barely made the AFC Playoffs or barely missed the AFC Playoffs, but they were no longer a dominant team in the AFC or AFC West where they are a Super Bowl contender practically every year. Like they were in the early and mid 1980s or the 1970s or the late 1960s.

Mediocrity had sunk into Los Angeles for the Raiders and is one reason why they moved to Oakland where they belong. But a franchise thats as great with the history of the Raiders, should never have a lost decade.

NFL Films: Crunch Time (1986)

Source:NFL Films- New Orleans Saints WR Danny Abramowicz.

"This video is a telecast, broadcast, and production of NFL Films. I claim no ownership of this material, and do not profit from it in anyway. This video is intended for historical and educational viewing purposes.

Featured are mostly defensive players who don't stop with taking a man down. Also featured is Hall of Fame fullback Larry Csonka."

This is exactly why I love football, because it's about two men coming after each other and bringing their best, two teams coming right after each. The team that wins is the winner, the team that loses is the loser, two teams against each other playing to be the best.

Football is not for sissies, it's not for hippie lefties, who think football is just some sexist, celebration of male masculinity. It's for real men, men who work hard for a living, who are not afraid to work hard for a living and get dirty.

Football is for people who are willing and will kick ass to destroy the person that's in their way and trying to prevent them from accomplishing their goal. Americans love American football, because Americans tend to have to work hard to make a good living and see American football players doing exactly that and getting well-compensated for it.

Funny or Die: Richard Belzer- 'Cooking with Christopher Walken'

Source:Funny or Die- Cooking with the one and only, the real Christopher Walken. No offense to even the best of Chris Walken impersonators.
"Christopher Walken invites Richard Belzer over to cook a meal for you."

From Funny or Die

I don't know if I want to eat a meal thats prepared by someone who could star in the Walken Dead. Maybe if I was on death row and I knew I was guilty and that the Governor of whatever wanted to expand the death penalty for jaywalkers, which in the real-life is the most serious crime that I've ever been guilty of ( or willing to admit to ) then sure! I would consider having my good buddy Chris Walken ( who I've never even met before ) come to the prison and prepare my last meal for me. Assuming the warden would allow it and I couldn't afford to pay him off. A murder defense and lawyers can be very expensive. Or so I've heard.

A least my last meal from Walken might save me a little pain from the actual execution itself. Other than that because Walken is so believable both as an actor but comedian as well, you almost have to take him seriously in any role he's ever done. Perhaps especially when he's playing murderers or like in True Romance where he played an Italian mobster ( even though he's not Italian and doesn't look Italian at all ) but that is just one example of why he's such a great actor because he can make people believe he's Santa Clause who travels on a flying sled to avoid Los Angeles rush hour. He's literally that great at what he does.

Tenth Amendment Center: 'The Great Lie of The Nanny State'

Source:Tenth Amendment Center- talking about big government in America.
"Many of us, after years of indoctrination at our government schools, were left with a sense that there is a great government force working hard every day to protect us and look after our best interest. We were told that government standards keep us safe from disease, that government highway regulations keep us safe from car accidents, that federal agencies make sure that the food we eat will be healthy.

The result of all of this? Americans everywhere drive more carelessly, do not research what they put on their plate and take medications that leave them sicker, rather than healthier.

For government officials, free from the scrutiny of the free market and any sort of competition, they typically have one primary goal once they have obtained their coveted position of power- to retain that power and gain even more. This is a simple fact of human nature, that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

A great example is the Food and Drug Administration, which after obtaining the confidence of the republics masses has been responsible for regular introduction of medications that maim and even kill those who trust its oversight. This is hardly surprising when one considers that many FDA regulators were installed after terms as drug company lobbyists. Likewise, Federal officials entrusted with Americas food supply have allowed the greatest food experiment in the history of mankind- the use of Genetically Modified crops.

The dangers of this veil of protection not only enables Americans to become ignorant, mindless sheep but also allows the growth of power, as recently seen with the Federal forays into finance and medical care. Those who seek the protective hand of big brother pay a high price as they trust their quality of life to a largely self serving group of legislators. If the goal is a better quality of life, the solution is simple: more responsibility and less government involvement."

Source:Tenth Amendment Center

We (meaning competent, sane, sober people, which might seem like a unique club today) don't want big government telling us what we can eat, how much we can eat, or how much we have to pay for what we eat and drink in America. So of course I'm in favor of the nanny state either from the left-wing or right-wing in America.

But at the same time if there is any purpose at all for government in America, even at the Federal level, it's to play referee and protect the people. Not try to protect us from ourselves, but to protect the innocent from predators.

The reason for a regulatory state in America (which is constitutional under the Commerce Clause) is not to tell people what they can and can't do to ourselves, but to regulate how products are made in America to make them as safe as possible. But then leave it up to the individuals to decide for themselves what they can eat and drink, whether to smoke or not, what we read and listen too, what we watch, etc. But not to try to run our lives for us.

U2: 'I Still Haven't Found What Im Looking For Live From Milan'

Source:Fuzz 97- Bono from Milan, Italy.

"U2's I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For Live From Milan"

From Fuzz 97

My favorite U2 song and I'm not a huge U2 fan but I love this song because of the candor of it, which is about someone who hasn't found what they are looking for in life (obviously, you don't say) not completely satisfied with their life. And still looking for it, whatever it is to make their lives complete.

I think if we're all being honest with ourselves, most of us aren't completely satisfied. The only way to do that is to live a full life and then at the end when you know your time is about up, you can then decide for yourself if you lived a full life and are completely happy or not. Or are there things you wish you have done and have accomplished, but perhaps have now run out of time.

Gaga 8585: Be Cool (2005) Aerosmith & Christina Milian

Source:Gaga 8585- Christina Milian performing with Aerosmith. Maybe there is some reason to watch Be Cool.

"This song is from the movie "Be Cool" ft Aerosmith and Christina Milian. The name of the song is "Cryin'" by Aerosmith.Veesugee. Please subscribe to Veesugee's channel and like her original music."

From Gaga 8585

Perhaps the best Areosmith song of all time and the only reason to watch Be Cool, to see them perform in it. If Be Cool is not a bad movie, you can see bad from wherever it is. I think the best thing that can be said about Be Cool, is that it represents the 2000s very well culturally, where everything was about style, perception, and personality, instead of substance, where so-called reality TV and celebrity culture were dominant. And this was even before social media took off when you look at 2005 when this film came out. But Christina Milian does an excellent job performing Cryin with Aerosmith.
