Patrick McCarthy: MISL 1984- Pittsburgh Spirit @ Cleveland Force: Playoffs

Source:Patrick McCarthy- let the Force be with the Spirit. LOL

"The Pittsburgh Spirit are trying to recover from a huge loss in Game 3 and force a Game 5 back home."

From Patrick McCarthy

Cleveland and Pittsburgh are major rivals, if not arch-rivals in multiple sports. The Browns and Steelers in the NFL and in the 1980s the Force and Spirit. If indoor soccer would ever become a major professional sport, rivalries like this that brings fans to the game, if what that league would need.

Tim Hanlon: MISL 1982- MISL Finals Game 2- St. Louis Steamers @ New York Arrows: Full Game

Source:Tim Hanlon- the St. Louis Steamers and New York Arrows for the 1982 MISL Championship.

"St. Louis Steamers vs. NY Arrows, 1981-82 MISL Finals, Game 2 (5/16/82)"

From Tim Hanlon

If you were to put the MISL (Major Indoor Soccer League) in the category of a major sports league in America, then the New York Arrows have to be the least popular of any major, American, sports franchise in America. They won the first 4 MISL championships from 1979-82 and struggled to draw 5 thousand fans a game at and arena that drew over 16 thousand for soccer and the same arena where the Long Island Islanders (as I call them) played. Professional indoor soccer has never been marketed well in the New York area.
